Tour-Blog of Chad's birthday // SUDAN-Video Clip 29.02.2008 by Christian
This is the fourth tour blog: Today was a day that we will all remember and never forget. Today was Chetro's birthday. Now I know many of us believe that Chad is not human, that he is a legend, that he is immaculate, above man and all its vices, but today reminds us all that Chetroleum Stokes is actually a man, a man with feelings and hopes and dreams just like the rest of us. He was born from a woman and a man in love and he was once a defenseless innocent babe, suckling fresh milk in Sherborn, Massachusetts. So let's take a look at the human being we all know. He used to have what his mother would call an "energy crisis" as a child quite frequently, and thus he was instructed to run back and forth to the mailbox 10 to 20 times, which he eagerly would perform. As a young man he would frequently play in a band called Dispatch and would become an indie rock legend. As he matured even more he could be seen wearing Mimi's pink terrycloth 'diva dryer' specifically after Sybil gave it to him for his 32nd birthday. What a thoughtful gift! How could anyone not look like a hunk of sexy man meat with a pink diva dryer on his head during a birthday dinner? Tell me now, I demand to know. We spent Chad's birthday destroying the Revolution Room in Little Rock, Arkansas on President Clinton Avenue with continuous musical beauty. The crowd was not very large but was one of the most enthusiastic we have had for its size, and thus the destruction was well received. Chuck and I tried to play a joke on Chad for his birthday and completely stopped playing Black Cab at the first verse but Chad thought it was just a "cool new intro." So we had to interrupt him to sing Happy Birthday. Christine was there too, looking good as usual. That's all for today. Over and Out.
Edit: We just found that awesome video on youtube; it shows Chad, sitting in the tour-van, singing "Sudan":
